George D. Escobar, a 25-year media veteran and co-founder of Advent Film Group, produced and directed Advent’s first movie, COME WHAT MAY, seen by over 3 million people and reached No. 5 in CBA’s Top Ten DVD list. George has also co-produced HERO, and THE SCREENWRITERS. In 2012, Escobar directed THE ISAIAH 9:10 JUDGMENT for WND Films. It was Amazon’s No. 1 Faith DVD documentary for 35 weeks and is based on the NY Times bestseller, THE HARBINGER.
His film “Alone, Yet Not Alone” was nominated for an Academy award for Best Original Song in 2014. The song “Alone, Yet Not Alone,” performed by Joni Eareckson Tada was one of five finalists for an Oscar.
Not only is George an accomplished director, but he also holds seven U.S. patents in technology and user-interface design, by far the most of any teacher here at IguanaPaint.
George and his wife have homeschooled their three sons from K-12. He is a regular film workshop and keynote speaker at homeschool and professional conferences. In five years, Escobar has taught filmmaking to over 1,000 students through workshops, webinars, and internships, and is thrilled to teach here at Iguana Art Academy.
